Her voice is still lovely. I remember during the Vietnam War the night she was on the Smothers' brothers show singing anti-war songs. That was their final show. They got thrown off the air.

I believe I was still in Vietnamese language school; it was a "must see" every Sunday night in the dayroom, if you were sober enough. Early '68, Otis And the Mar-Keys (Booker T & the MGs) doing "Dock of the Bay". Poignant time. I'm sorry I did it: went in the army. Coulda done the time.

No blaming -- people did what they did and now we deal with what is in front of us --which is looking worse and worse.
"No blaming?" I can't say that; I blame lots of people, alive and dead, including myself (putting definitions aside for the moment).
Yes, I enlisted to obtain a MOS (Military Occupational Specialty) of "Intelligence Analyst" (I'm very good at it, more's the pity; so was Jeremiah). I did this to avoid the Infantry, but, as you point out, second-guessing is useless. The Vietnamese was the Army's second-level idea, dammit.
