Prayer request for a friend (for Chagall's birthday celebration, see the post below -but +Maya asks that you read this first)

My friend blogs anonymously, or sometimes pseudonymously, at Le Bestiaire - yes, despite the title, the blog is fully in English. Angry, eloquent English.

He hasn't asked for this, but I would like to summon the Prayer Posse on his behalf, because he is having a very, very hard time.

You can read about some of it on his blog. Read the last two posts, one on his current insomnia, the other on one of his (no longer) places of employ. Since the episode he recounts in that second post, a memory of some months ago, he's gotten gotten laid off from yet another job due to the usual wave of downsizing in corporations here in the U.S. There's also health and a hidden disability from early days. Life is very difficult for this man on all fronts.

So pray away, and may our friend at the very least know the mercy of Godde and relief from raging despair. And a good night's sleep.

A job and some health insurance and regular sleep would be really nice, too. If you know of any employment of the technical-writing sort, in the U.S. Northeast or by telecommute, leave a note on my friend's blog. Also pet-sitting employment. This person is very good and trustworthy with animals (both dogs and cats and probably some others). Thank you.

You can also read a powerful tale of my friend's journey of faith on the same blog.

Again, thank you.

Oh my... You know I am worried about this myself but this is a whole other situation.

So many prayers. And what a blog!

Prayers indeed. For all those things and first of all for sleep so the rest may happen.

Prayers that Le Bestiare's situation improves in every way, Jane. I don't have time to read his blog now, but I have prayed for him.

Add my prayers for Le Bestaire. May God rain down unexpected blessings on him.

Add my prayers to the heap, Jane.

Times are rough, and some people seem to get far more than their fair share of the roughness.

Prayers continue...

Thank you, Jane, and all of the above. I didn't know anything about this on until earlier today, when I began getting notices from Typepad that "someone's been sleeping in my bed" (sure as hell it ain't been me lately). I'm not sure I can stay anonymous but in the end, who cares? The acupuncturist I went to yesterday said most people hit a wall after a few visits. I hit it head on, head first. Well, come over to where I keep my broken toys and read more...just give me a few minutes to clean up the litter.

Le Bestiare is special to my heart. He is in my prayers every day. What love holds up, I do not know, but if it supports anyone or anything, as near as the bottom comes, he will never hit it. It's all I can offer - that and faith that a light will shine on him soon.

Add my prayers to the list. I know the feeling of the wolf at my door, and I also know what it does to you when you can't sleep for days, and weeks, and months on end.

Blessings to you, Friend of Jane. I hope you find rest from all of your worries soon.

Pax,
Doxy

Follow-up. I went to bed last night at 10:45, for the first night in weeks unafraid. I woke up at 5:30 with a 92-pound dog next to me. I slept, you see. God, but I needed the sleep! I'm on hold with the New Jersey Unemployment office--all patience on earth is required for that agency--if they were morticians they'd probably bury the wrong body. Patience we need. To all of you who stormed The Gates...thank you. I would say "from the bottom of my heart," but right now it's as bottomless as my gratitude.

Anon, I rejoice with you. Thanks be to God! A decent night's sleep can put a new perspective on life - even as you're on hold with the NJ unemployment office.
