Héloïse (on the feast of Anselm and Abélard)

Anselm and Abélard. Can you believe those two have the same day? The coincidences of death. As I recall, Karl Barth and Thomas Merton died the same day as each other, the same year. (I just checked and my memory was accurate: December 10, 1968.) Anselm and Abélard died a generation apart, though.
But today I wish to speak of Héloïse, Abélard's beloved, one smart woman. My medieval books are at the office, and I must spend the day here at home pondering and working on the Big Academic Tome. So Héloïse will wait till late tonight. Meanwhile, here's a bit on Anselm and one on Abélard.

And here is the tomb of Héloïse and Abélard, where they were (re) buried, at the Père Lachaise.
