You gotta have Rublev (and LaCugna, and the Mad One, and That Organist in L.A.)

You can't have a celebration of the Trinity without the icon by Andrei Rublev.

Trinity, community, hospitality. (And see above for well-timed commitment and community comments. A lovely coincidence.)

Simple Village Organist, meanwhile, has a few thoughts of his own on imagery for today's Trinitarians. Here and here.

So does MadPriest in Newcastle-upon-Tyne. Here and here.

The book on the Trinity (note: this is my bias speaking) is (for your non-existent spare time) God for Us: The Trinity in Christian Life, by the late lamented (she died too young, of cancer) Catherine Mowry LaCugna (Harper Collins, 1991; in paperback a year or two after that).

For LaCugna, the Trinity is "ultimately a practical doctrine with radical consequences for Christian life."

Which doesn't mean the book is an easy read.

So look at the icon for a while first.

And see above for what Julian of Norwich has to say, too.
