Cyprian of Carthage

All the parishes I know named St. Cyprian, Episcopal or Catholic,, are largely African American. On that last link, to the Mass of St. Cyprian related to Holy Comforter-St. Cyprian Catholic Church in Washington, D.C. (whose CD cover you see at the right), click on the Responsorial Psalm link, "Proclaim God's Marvelous Deeds."

Cyprian, Bishop of Carthage in North Africa, comes to us today for his feast through the mighty pen of Padre Mickey of Panamá. Have a read.

  1. There is an Orthodox Church in American parish in Richmond VA named St. Cyprian of Carthage. It is not black....

  2. Yes, of course. I didn't say they all were, I said all the ones I knew were, and specifically the Anglican and Roman Catholic ones. I'm sure there are many other Saint Cyprian congregations, especially in Orthodox churches.
