Back safely. Nice airplane pilots. Cat in good shape. Dogwood in bloom in Boston. Harvard still there. Parents of Acts of Hope looking well. Memorial service moving. Sat in row of old friends. Laughed and cried. Legal Sea Foods had overly long wait, couldn't get in; will have to wait till next visit to eat bluefish.
Button of the week, spotted on someone at memorial service: Barack Obama spelled out in Hebrew letters, like this:
Blogging will be scarce for the next ten days or so except for a post or two. Prayers and greetings are most welcome! Explanations later. Yes, I'm fine.
Love and prayers in abundance to you dear Jane.
ReplyDeleteI actually linked to you here today.
Loving the button, loving it very much.
Nice button. (((Sweetie)))
ReplyDeleteJane, good luck with everything. You and Maya Pavlova are in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I have posted a comment as Lisa before, but Kitten is the pseudonym I blog under. I put your blog under my "Blogs of Note" section, if that's all right with you.
Sure, Kitten, that's great.
ReplyDeleteOff blog now. Thanks for prayers, all. Keep sending 'em!
Hugs and prayers and lots of love as you try to do too much in too little time.
ReplyDeleteGreat button!
The button is funny but is there one in Hebrew that reads "Anarchy trumps all current choices"?
ReplyDeleteWell, prayers and greetings it is then. Explanations later!
ReplyDeleteThinking of you, my friend, and sending prayers and love your way.
ReplyDeleteJasper sends licks.
Howdy Ken. I don't think the button is meant to be funny. It is, rather, a brilliant, brief statement of support for Obama within the Jewish community where there has, as you know, been some anti-Obama flack. (No time to give all y'all a report or links for that, but there has been some good coverage and rebuttal by groups like Jewish Voice for Peace and its affiliate, Jewish Peace News.) It says succinctly "I'm Jewish and I think supporting Obama is not only good, but good for the Jews. And for Israel."
ReplyDeleteA few months back there was a fascinating news analysis piece comparing the graphic design in the various campaigns and the visual messages of the various typefaces. (As a former p.r. person and brochure designer, I love that stuff.) The person evaluating the campaigns was doing it strictly on the basis of graphic design, typeface/font, and visual appeal. Obama won hands down, as I recall. This button is a great example of smart graphic design.
So, Ken, is Hebrew the language for anarchy too? Or should that be Yiddish? ;-)
Oops. I'm not supposed to be online. Hi, all y'all! I miss you.
P.S. I was leaning over the computer this morning (not yet sitting on the desk chair, just leaning over the desk and checking something) when Maya Pavlova jumped onto my back. And there she stayed, so I had to stay bent over for a couple of minutes with a horizontal back and a cat clinging to me, checking out the view from her human mount. She has interesting ways of getting attention, that one.
Hi Jane. Love and prayers going your way, my friend.
