    She does, now that you mention it. She's probably glad not to be pregnant with an elephant any more, too. Talk about your heavy pregnancy!

    I've been loving all your animal posts, Jane! When I lived in DC, the zoo had a baby elephant and a baby panda that we got to watch grow up. (There was a young giraffe, as well, though we missed its actual birth). What is it about baby animals that tugs so deeply?

    Lucky I don't have cable, because I'd be glued to Animal Planet, watching baboons in diapers and such.

    Not just a heavy pregancy, a really long one. The gestation period is supposed to be 22 months. Anyone here who has had children may now utter prayers of thanksgiving.
