Happy St. George's Day!

Why should everything be new all the time?! Revisiting the old is part of a good and holy life. And, by decree of Acts of Hope, part of blogging as well. So here is a link to last year's St. George's Day post, and I am posting here the beautiful icon from last year.

You will also find that icon, and two other icons, at Padre Mickey's Dance Party, along with a fine and fascinating post on St. George. So the new in blogland is good too. Go have a look, and ponder the "ever ancient, ever new" aspects of Christian tradition.

  2. Oh really, Padre; what makes you think it's even the least bit secret?

Or are you talking about some kind of organization?

  3. Happy St George Day.

I picked up a troll instead of a dragon, I need to slay him or at least block the ip address!

He is a Bible quoting fundie who wants to take me to task for saying that love trumps law...

  4. Feh. That's a false dichotomy anyway since we misinterpret the meaning of Jewish law (Torah) as legalism when its core meaning is anything but. Silly troll. Sorry he is bothering you. Let me go check him out. But yeah, block him. There must be something in the Blogger instructions about how to do that. (Do you use Blogger? I forget.)

  6. Sent the image to my Rector. The parish, after all, is St. George's by the River. A troll? Sad. If we're here long enough we get 'em. They collect on bloggers the way our pets attract fleas.

  7. I'm a little late, but it's a lovely icon. Definitely worth seeing twice.

Poor Fran, your blog is like trollpaper. So sorry.
