I have studied many philosophers and many cats.
The wisdom of cats is infinitely superior.

Gorgeous cat... is this one still alive or is this the same cat who died last year?

Alas, same cat. He was still young, only a little over two years old. He died on the operating table, of cardiac arrest, for emergency surgery for a bladder blockage.

The photo on the web is more luminous than the paper version -- it's nice to have him looking at us here. Glad I put it up, and glad to share him. He was a beautiful soul. His body was nice too :-). Very soft fellow. His name, Sensei, means "teacher" or "honored teacher" in Japanese. It's used after the name, so I would be Redmont Sensei or sometimes Jane Sensei, and you would be Caminante Sensei ;-). He was just Sensei, because of course in my house he was the real professor. I was only his humble and obedient servant.

P.S. Caminante, I just looked at your blog and realized you are from Vermont! We must talk sometime. It's one of my adopted homes. Haven't been there in a while but have some history there. Also glad to see you quoting Galeano.
